Job Title: Front-End Developer

About Us:

Seek is AI + Netflix for learning. It is an AI teaching and learning tool that combines any teaching concept with unique student interest to generate customized choose-your-own-adventure lessons. We are a college startup going through Dorm Room Fund’s summer track, our team hailing from Oxford, Stanford, Columbia, and Swarthmore with experience at Amazon, ByteDance, and more.

Responsibilities:

This position is flexible to be part-time (20-30 hours/week) compensated between 1500 - 2500 RMB/month. Based on your demonstrated impact and contributions, we will consider extending a formal offer for you to join our team long-term. Your responsibilities will include:

  • User Interface Development: Developing user interfaces that are not only visually appealing but also intuitive and user-friendly.

  • Responsive Design: Ensuring that our platform is accessible and functions smoothly on a variety of devices, from desktop to mobile.

  • Optimization: Optimizing front-end performance and responsiveness, taking into account loading times and interactivity.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborating with the backend development team and AI engineers to create a cohesive, end-to-end language learning solution.

Requirements:

  • Front-End Technologies: Proficiency in HTML, CSS, Tailwind (or other popular CSS frameworks), high-level programming languages (JavaScript/TypeScript), as well as React and web development framework, such as NextJS. Must have a good understanding of how the front-end interacts with the back-end to create a full-stack application.

  • Detail-Oriented, Clean Code Writing: You don’t have to have the most experience, but we’re looking for clean, easily readable code and the ability to write modular and scalable code.

  • Version Control: Knowledge of distributed version control systems such as Git to collaborate with other developers effectively.

  • Responsive Design: Experience with responsive design principles, ensuring seamless performance on various devices and screen sizes. Any mobile experience is a plus.

  • Versatile and Flexible Mindset: Emphasizing collaboration and adaptability in this role!
